Academic Support Initiatives Overview

  • English as a Second Language

The ESL Program at KSU includes the ESL Center, where international students receive tutoring in writing, reading, pronunciation, and public speaking, as well as general education academic advising; the Conversation Partners Program, which matches international students with native English-speaking students, faculty, and staff in a mutual exchange of cultures and friendship; and ESL courses in grammar and oral communication.

  • SMART Center

The Science and Math Academic Resource and Tutoring (SMART) Center offers free tutoring and support services for all KSU students. With centers on both the Kennesaw and Marietta campuses, the SMART Center offers support for all mathematics, chemistry, physics, and engineering courses that are part of the general education curriculum.

  • Supplemental Instruction

KSU students wanting to succeed in difficult courses can get help from Supplemental Instruction (SI) through weekly study sessions. All sessions are free to students. We currently offer help in the following courses: Anatomy & Physiology, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Political Science, and Mathematics.
