The estimated cost for the 6-week summer session (for two courses totaling six credit hours) is outlined below:

    • In-State Tuition: $1,085.22
    • Student Fees: $1,003.00

    Total Summer Cost (Tuition and Student Fees ONLY) for In-State Students: $2,088.22

    (We also recommend budgeting approximately $400 for textbooks.)

Financial Aid

Some forms of financial aid can be used to cover the costs of the Summer Start Program.  You will need to work directly with the KSU Office of Student Financial Aid regarding your financial aid:  http://financialaid.kennesaw.edu/

MARCH 1, 2018:  Priority deadline for summer financial aid.

Below is information in response to some frequently asked questions:

  • Summer Start students should complete the 2017-2018 FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) form AND the 2018-2019 FAFSA form upon application to the program. If you have not done so, please complete this process as soon as possible.

    • Students MUST complete the 2017-2018 FAFSA application in order for a determination to be made regarding their eligibility for federal financial aid (including student loans and grants available) during the summer 2018 semester.  

    • Students MUST ALSO complete the 2018-2019 FAFSA application in order to be eligible for financial aid in the fall 2018 and spring 2019 semesters.

  • The priority deadline to apply for summer 2018 financial aid is March 1, 2018.

    For the summer 2018 term, complete the 2017-2018 FAFSA form. Please note that final determinations for HOPE eligibility are typically announced after the tuition payment deadline for the summer semester. Students are responsible for meeting the tuition payment deadline for the summer semester; HOPE-eligible students may be reimbursed following final HOPE scholarship eligibility determinations.     If you plan on using financial aid for the 2018-2019 academic year, you will also complete a FAFSA form for the 2018-2019 academic year.
