The estimated cost for the 6-week summer session (for two courses totaling six credit hours) is outlined below:

    • In-State Tuition: $1,063.98
    • Student Fees: $1,003.00

    Total Summer Cost (Tuition and Student Fees ONLY) for In-State Students: $2,066.98

    If you are interested in housing and a meal plan, the estimated cost is outlined below:

    • Optional Meal Plan: $475 (40 meals + 75 dining dollars optional meal plan)*
    • Housing: $645/month (rent for June and July total $1290)*
    • Housing Fee: $375*

    *Total Summer Cost (In-State Tuition, Student Fees, Housing and Meal Plan): $4,206.98

    (We also recommend budgeting approximately $400 for textbooks.)

Financial Aid

Some forms of financial aid can be used to cover the costs of the Summer Start Program.  You will need to work directly with the KSU Office of Student Financial Aid regarding your financial aid:  http://financialaid.kennesaw.edu/

APRIL 1, 2017:  Priority deadline for summer financial aid.

Below is information in response to some frequently asked questions:

  • Summer Start students should complete the 2016-2017 FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) form AND the 2017-2018 FAFSA form upon application to the program. If you have not done so, please complete this process as soon as possible.

    • Students MUST complete the 2016-2017 FAFSA application in order for a determination to be made regarding their eligibility for federal financial aid (including student loans and grants available) during the summer 2017 semester.  

    • Students MUST ALSO complete the 2017-2018 FAFSA application in order to be eligible for financial aid in the fall 2017 and spring 2018 semesters.

  • The priority deadline to apply for summer 2017 financial aid is April 1, 2017.

    For the summer 2017 term, complete the 2016-2017 FAFSA form. Please note that final determinations for HOPE eligibility are typically announced after the tuition payment deadline for the summer semester. Students are responsible for meeting the tuition payment deadline for the summer semester; HOPE-eligible students may be reimbursed following final HOPE scholarship eligibility determinations.     If you plan on using financial aid for the 2017-2018 academic year, you will also complete a FAFSA form for the 2017-2018 academic year.
