Pre-Ignition Checklist

Please complete the following items PRIOR to your Ignition: New Student Orientation session.

☑ Confirm where to check-in and park on your Ignition day. You can find this information by visiting the Check-in and Parking Information page.

☑ Schedule a pre-advising appointments (optional) - Familiarize yourself with the advising and registration process by understanding KSU's academic goals and requirements for you. Do this by visiting University College Advising Services (UCAS)

☑ Check your netID and password. This will give you access to Owl Express course registration during your Ignition: New Student Orientation session.

☑ Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) - You must complete the FAFSA for student loans, grants, federal work study and need-based scholarships. Learn about financial resources and processes here. If you’ve already completed the FAFSA, visit Owl Express to make sure you submitted all the documentation required by the Office of Student Financial Aid.

☑ Complete your Math or Foreign Language Placement Tests - Many majors encourage students take the Math Placement Test (ALEKS) prior to registering for classes. Visit the link below for details. Also, if you plan to enroll in a foreign language course during your first semester, the Foreign Language Placement Exam is highly recommended.

☑ Accessibility - If you require accommodations to participate in Ignition, such as an ASL Interpreter, assistive listening device, etc, please contact Student Disability Services at or 470-578-2666. Please provide 5 business days’ notice of your request to ensure that accommodations can be arranged for your scheduled session.
