When are the Orientation sessions for students starting at KSU in 2019?
- Summer Semester are offered during the month of April prior to the school term starting in June
- Fall Semester orientation dates are offered during the months of June and July prior to the starting school term starting in August
- Spring Semester are offered during the month of November prior to the school term staring in January. All of our 2019 Spring sessions have concluded.

May I bring a guest to Ignition?
Yes, we highly encourage students to bring a parent or adult family member/friend who will be supporting the student. Research indicates that support from families results in greater student success. We do not encourage children/younger siblings (12 and under) to attend Parent and Family Orientation because it is designed for adults and can be a very long day for little ones. Please make appropriate child care plans when organizing your visit to KSU.
NOTE: Each parent/guest is required to pay a fee to attend Parent and Family Orientation
What if the Ignition Session is full?If the session is full, please make an appointment with an academic advisor to go over class requirements and the class registration process. First Year students-Ignition is mandatory, so please contact University College Advising Services at 470-578-2860 to schedule an appointment. Transfer students may contact the Academic Advisor within the college of their major. This listing may be found in the Orientation handbook or by clicking here.
What is your refund policy for Ignition?The Ignition fee for students, parents and or guest is NON-REFUNDABLE and NON-TRANSFERABLE.
What do I need to know prior to Ignition?Please make sure you review the Pre-Ignition Checklist prior to attending your Ignition: New Student Orientation Session.
What if I need special assistance due to a disability?
If you require accommodations to participate in Ignition, such as an ASL Interpreter, assistive listening device, etc, please contact Student Disability Services at firstname.lastname@example.org or 470-578-2666. Please provide 5 business days’ notice of your request to ensure that accommodations can be arranged for your scheduled session.
