    American Democracy Project

    The campuswide civic and political engagement project is housed in University College, providing students from their first day on campus through commencement with the opportunity to get engaged in their communities through programming like Constitution Week, the annual Pathways to Peace lecture series, and special screenings, workshops, and discussions. Students, faculty, staff, and community members are invited to participate in ADP events and activities.

    CTAP and CAST

    The Corporate Tuition Assistance Partnership program (CTAP) enables employers to enrich existing talent by sponsoring current employees to further their education.

    The Corporate Access to Student Talent program (CAST) enables employers to develop a talent pipeline within the existing KSU student body.

    Degrees and Certificates

    University College is the proud home of the Bachelor of Science in Integrative Studies degree and the Master of Science in First-Year Studies. Both programs are interdisciplinary by design, helping goal-oriented students reach the next step in their educational and career goals.

  • Distance Learning

    Distance Learning

    Whether it is an online course or an entire program of study, student learning is facilitated in University College through distance education. First-year seminars, Leadership Studies courses, and the university's digital literacy course are offered in a variety of environments -- online, hybrid, and in the classroom -- to meet students' needs. The M.S. in First-Year Studies will be offered entirely online, and there are online options for Integrative Studies majors.

    Global Engagement

    University College offers an array of courses as well as co-curricular opportunities to expand global learning and engagement for students. In fact, one of the college's core values is a global perspective. From the transformational UC Global Engagement Scholars program to education abroad experiences offered through the Center for Student Leadership, students can enhance their understanding of global issues while developing global citizenship skills.

    The Thrive program is the winner of the National Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education Excellence Grand Gold Award. This is the association's highest honor for "transforming higher education through outstanding programs, innovative services, and effective administration."
